Plattekloof Reservoir Concept
The Plattekloof Reservoir Administration Building explores the convergence of essential public utility infrastructure and refined, human-centric architectural design. The building is conceived as a modular and adaptable structure—able to evolve over time in response to changing operational needs.
The architecture is grounded in principles of passive design and sustainability. Low energy consumption is achieved through climate-responsive design: orientation, deep overhangs for solar shading, and natural cross-ventilation strategies. The roof forms, expressive yet pragmatic, modulate light and temperature, while generous glazing frames the surrounding landscape and enhances occupant wellbeing.
Balancing function with spatial quality, this administration hub supports the critical operation of the reservoir and provides a calm, efficient, and uplifting workplace.
