Faure New Water Scheme
Situated at the existing Faure Water Treatment Plant, the Faure New Water Scheme (FNWS) will form a cornerstone of the City of Cape Town's bulk water supply network by turning wastewater into potable water. In collaboration with the engineers at Zutari, this project reimagines the future water plays in the public’s life: inviting them to learn about water processes and engage with the infrastructure. Adopting an 'operator-centric' design philosophy, the project is carefully designed around the needs and aspirations of the operational staff, whilst also paying special attention to the needs of visitors. On completion, this water re-use plant will be the largest of its kind in the world.
In addition to the Faure Plant, the administration buildings in Zandvliet and Stellenbosch are significant segments in improving water infrastructure in South Africa.
